Wednesday evening I was invited to the launch of Benefit's brand new blush Rockateur held at Tiger Tiger, Cardiff. After being greeted with cocktails and introduced to tables laden with delicious food, it was time to get down to business - the product. We were walked through the perfect look right from the skincare to the lips using nothing but the gorgeous products offered by Benefit. Each product was passed around so by the end my hand was covered in beautiful shimmering swatches and my mind was craving Boots to be open so I could purchase it all. The real star of the show though was none other than the brand new Rockateur.
The packaging itself is very Benefit with it's reinforced cardboard hinged box complete with a brush and a mirror. All Benefit blushes retail for £23.50 but most weigh in at 7-8g whereas this comes in at 5g. I did ask about the current weight drop and the official explanation is "“Soft formulas can crack if they sit in a pan that’s too deep; Rockateur is made differently to the rest of our powders and so the size, rather than the price, reflects this" which after testing the product I am very happy with. The blush itself is incredibly soft but doesn't have a lot of fall out and applies like a dream into a shimmery (not glittery) finish that has facets of pink, rose gold and bronze which makes it flattering for a whole manner of skin tones. I had to build the blush up quite a bit to get the finish I like but it is pigmented and has such a beautiful finish I can forgive it a few swipes. The brush it comes with is also slightly different from previous brushes and doesn't offend me in the slightest whereas some of the others haven't worked as well as I'd have liked.
Benefit Rockateur blush will launch officially on August 22nd here and in store. It is definitely something I'm going to pick up and use religiously combined with Fine One One and Cha Cha Tint as shown at the event for a stronger yet beautiful finish.
I tried this out in Boots a few weeks ago and fell in love. It's such a beautiful colour! Definitely on my Christmas list.
