The Autumn Tag

I was tagged to do this Autumn tag by the lovely Georgina who writes Makeup-Pixi3 as we share a kinship in how much we adore this season. Georgina tags everyone who has a blog so I'm not going to specifically tag anyone but instead follow the lead of the creator and suggest everyone do it if they'd like.

For Autumn, what is your...

1. Favourite thing about it? - The feeling of a fresh start, the crisp weather and the colours as they change. It also makes me feel really rather festive towards the end.

2. Favourite drink? - The classic Starbucks pumpkin spice latte has to be my all-time favourite but I am so fond of a vanilla chai latte with cinammon sprinkled on top. Autumn in a cup right there and although I love the egg nog lattes that Starbucks bring out around before Christmas I feel it's more of a winter drink.

3. Favourite scent/candle? - Fragrance is a big thing for me and in my house in the Autumn we burn candles with a cinnamon scent or scents that are deeper. Last year the Rituals Sacred Fire candle in White Patchouli & Cedar Wood was a firm favourite but I also love to burn Yankee's delicious baking scents like Vanilla Frosting and White Chocolate Mint too to make the house smell homely and inviting, especially in the cold weather.

4. Best lipstick? - MAC Rebel is a firm favourite for A/W as is Rimmel Kate Moss matte in 107 (a deep berry purple and a wine red respectively). I like deeper statement lips with neutral eyes all year round but I tend to venture into more purples and deep reds in the Autumn and Winter. Just the way I like it.

5. Go to moisturiser? - I have terribly dry skin at the best of times so the cold weather and central heating just dries me out so much more. I need a deep moisturiser like the Weleda Skin Food which also smells delicious on my problem areas overnight and day to day I use an equally moisturising but less greasy product such as Clinique's Moisture Surge Intense or Balance Me Moisture Rich face cream.

6. Go to colours for the eyes? - I'm a neutrals girl who will add in a deep purple or berry tone with rose golds, bronzes, champagnes and taupes but this season I'm hoping to be a little more dramatic on the eye with a sneaky purchase of MAC Antiqued. I love the dark eyes, dark lips combination but I have yet to see if I could pull it off.

7. Favourite music or band/singer to listen to? - Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini - if I hear their music I think of cosy knitted blankets and Autumn as a whole. I fall asleep every night with my fan on listening to an acoustic playlist and I'll carry that through right through Autumn, minus the fan.

8. Favourite outfit to wear (i.e. boots & a scarf combo)? - A black vest top with a chunky knit cardigan or jumper, complimentary colour snood, black bodycon skirt, a knitted slouchy beret, black opaque tights and heeled boots with a big bag to carry around my life in. I would live in this outfit if I could - flattering, warm, comfortable and cosy.

9. Autumn treat? (i.e. a new scarf or bag you have your eye on) - I may be treating myself a lot this Autumn. I have my eye on a new Rebel lipstick to replace my old one that I'm currently having to use with a lip brush as it's so well loved, a bag from Zara, hats in abundance...honestly, I have a lot on my wishlist.

10. Favourite place to be? - At home with the fire going, a good film or TV series with fluffy or knitted blankets in a onesie with apple crumble and custard and a scented candle burning. I'm a real homebody and I love feeling cosy, warm and secure.
