My new shopping ethos is only to buy what I need or what I love and I think I'm doing pretty well considering I am very much a person who will buy quite a lot of tat and junk because I think it could be worth my while. My biggest goal for August is to donate 80% of my wardrobe and only keep the basic things plus a few special pieces that I can build on for a more chic and polished look whenever I throw something on that's clean from the cupboard. I'm thinking lots of black, greys, tans and creams so I've been carrying those colours around with me in my head whenever I'm out and about.
I picked up these Birkenstock-alikes from Primark men's section for a mere £6 but they're so great with a pair of jeans or a long dress for summer walks in the park with the dogs. The backpack was a pooch inspired purchase too because I find my satchels and shoulder bags just don't cut it when we're walking and need to store water and treats while it's bouncing merrily on my hip. I'm on the lookout for a good pair of wellies too so if anyone has any recommendations (in a size 9 so men's selections would be more helpful usually) I'd be really grateful.
I'm loving...
► Estée Lauder goodies - Double Wear is my Holy Grail base and Bronze Goddess is the most beautiful bergamot and coconut infused summer scent.
► I've spoken about my brief mistake marriage over six years ago before but this week after lots of financial and emotional abuse it is all through and solid which means I can finally marry my partner of six years! We'll be giving notice within the week against the date we've saved for our wedding so I am over the moon that it's finally happening!
► Iced coffee with Starbucks caramel syrup with a drizzle of the caramel sauce on top. Divine!
► Novels as I'm back into reading a lot more than I have been for a few months - next up, the Divergent trilogy.
► Colouring! I found this mandala colouring book, picked up a few coloured pencils and they have kept me occupied for hours at a time.
► Getting back into designing blog layouts. It's so great to get back to work on something creative.
Firstly, congratulations on being able to marry your partner! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm also in love with the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume, it's amazing and always comes out in the summer months! Plus those Birkenstocks - beeeeautiful. I recently purchased the Topshop dupes and absolutely love them!

Biggest congrats on getting the go ahead for your marriage - that must be such a weight lifted!
ReplyDeleteI looved Divergent. It was such a great read. Unfortunately I felt like the second two books got worse each time and I struggled to finish the last one - hopefully you have a better time with them!
