I'm in need of your opinions. As some of you may have realised from my Instagram & Twitter handle changes my business is called She & Life and has been up and running for about a year now. This blog was supposed to be separate but I get so many referrals and work from here to there it's now time to merge both the business name and the blog name so it's all combined. I'll be posting everything that's here over there but with added amateur photography shoots that I build up as I go plus a much easier place to integrate things such as blog design and so on. My day job won't really come into it at this point but it's a way to merge all of what I do under one brand name, so to speak. The question is, do I just take over this site (leaving all the content up) with an automatic referral from this URL to the new URL or set up an entirely new blog from scratch with only new content? There are pros and cons to both and now I'm handing the reigns over to you who will (hopefully) be reading. Let me know which is easier as if you follow via Bloglovin' you'll automatically be following the site regardless of whether it's here or on a separate blog. I'm hoping to get it all sorted by next week too which is exciting!
So, life updates? Go on then.
I've become the editor of The Pillow Fort magazine! The Pillow Fort is an online community that's main ethos is in positivity to thrive with chronic illness. There's a shop where you can buy cute things and an ever-growing online community for everyone from the young to the young at heart who all deal with various ongoing and chronic conditions without letting it define them or beat them. The magazine is a curation of articles, tips, photography, recipes, artwork etc all from people who have illnesses to people who have illnesses to inspire creativity, positivity and wellbeing despite the obstacles. Anyway, it's pretty great, I'm super excited and you should come join us!
Layla is turning six this month and it's also my five year anniversary of being 'official' with boyfriend two days later. It's kind of crazy to think that these years have gone by so quickly and since Amelia is off to nursery in September it all feels thoroughly real that my babies are not-so-babyish anymore and that's a very real and scary time for me. I just want to hold on tight and not let them age which I know is absolutely ridiculous and borderline crazy-overprotective-mum of me but I see them now and think in another six years Layla will be on the brink of being a teenager. I try not to think about it for this reason.
Health-wise I've not been great but I'm managing. What's even more annoying to me is that my internet connection has been ridiculous for the past two weeks and my email isn't receiving email as it should despite numerous calls to the relevant people. I have no idea what's up with any of it and it's driving me a little bit mad using 3G on my phone constantly so I'm hoping it'll all be sorted very soon so I can have some semblance of a job back since all my work is online-based.
So yes! Please tell me your opinions and I really hope to be back here soon in some form posting much more regularly with decent content. It's a bit of a crap feeling when your blogging mojo goes but I hope that's all to do with the circumstances as I'm feeling rather inspired lately to push myself out of my comfort zone and try a few new things!
Congratulations on the new job! Sounds like an amazing opportunity, and has so much more meaning than the average job!

Hmm I think you should take over this site. Setting up a new URL would surely lose all SEO benefit you've built over time with this site - plus it's always good to get to know the person behind a business (probably why you get so many referrals through here!)
ReplyDeleteGood luck either way :) what a great opportunity.

I think you should merge all your old content with your new blog and have it redirected. It would be a shame to just ditch it! :) Good luck with everything :)
