So last week I was wandering around town trying to find the L'Oreal ombre kit that wasn't the extra strength that I kept coming across. With no luck and after insisting for weeks the only thing I'd do is an ombre so I didn't have to deal with the roots…well, I ended up going red. I love red hair and I've had it a fair few times since I started dying my hair at thirteen. I've been varying degrees of red from ginger to bright letterbox red and this tone is one of my favourites showing up quite dark in most lights and then bright with a little illumination. No, it's not exactly easy to maintain and you need to be prepared in the shower or else it looks like a murder scene but go big or go home, right? I wasn't a fan of the all over bold red so I added some darker red to the roots and mid-lengths but not quite as much as I wanted. I'm going to be putting it through the lengths as well pretty soon so it'll blend better when it's all loose and not curled as much. You can really see the stark contrast in the first photo - eek!
Well, that's how I'm justifying this decision that I'll inevitably regret in a few months. Anyway, boyfriend took these photos! I use an exclamation mark because a week ago he couldn't turn the camera on let alone focus and shoot. I'm hoping to do some recipe posts soon and maybe even a few outfits here and there so I wanted him to know how to take some shots for when I need him. I often wish I had a photographer boyfriend like the bloggers I admire who have amazing photography but alas, it's all me. Until today. It may well be me from here on out but I am hoping for these posts to come to fruition so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!
Your hair is gorgeous! It looks like we both had similar ideas, I woke up on Tuesday itching to change up my hair. Since it's so short I could only work colour wise, and so red haired Collette came to be. I wanted it to be really bright red but it didn't work out, back to the drawing board for me!
