I'd love to be able to spend £10,000 on a wedding venue and have everything done for me in one sense but I think even if I could omit the stress of the day and not worry about the budget I'd feel something was lacking. I'm not the perfect white wedding type of girl and without some element of DIY and personality I don't think it would feel right.

Cue the woman who wrote the book on it - literally. Laura has become one of my most treasured online friends since she began her blog and is constantly giving me inspiration to be more creative, a little more thoughtful and to support small businesses in favour of big brands whenever possible. The woman who taught me how to make a pumpkin spice latte at home may well have revolutionised my wedding plans with this coffee table staple. Just looking at the cover makes me excited about what's to come in the way Elsie & Emma Larson's A Beautiful Mess photo idea book did but inside, like ABM is it a wonder to behold.

The photography is stunning and truly encapsulates the book but it's the DIY tutorials with the cost and tools laid out for you that really make the book what it is. Some of the tutorials don't have to be limited to just weddings and can cover everything from thank you gifts, little DIY projects for yourself or others, gifts for occasions, birthday treats and even home decor. Even if you plan to have your wedding all sorted there may be something to give you inspiration in this book.

I urge you all to check it out on Amazon and I can't wait to get stuck in properly. No doubt if I have a go at any of the tutorials I'll post my successes (and disasters) here for you to see.
