Thursday Evening

A few years ago I'd never have even considered a night out in Revolution. It just wasn't for me with the kind of music played, the extortionately priced drinks and the overall vibe of the place but I have to say that since Thursday's have become all about local acoustic artists there's been a little change of heart. The decor has vastly improved and now comprises of barrels, fairy lights indoors and outdoors, soft leather armchairs with scatter cushions and lovely light fixtures ranging from interesting bulbs to vintage style shades. It's cosy and intimate downstairs while it's lively and very dance-y upstairs. The drinks are still extortionate compared to other venues in the city centre but on acoustic night it's buy one get one free so, you know, it's not too bad.

My friend Hannah invited me out last night since she was spending a few days in Wales with her boyfriend and since I hadn't been since November I thought a few stern coke's, some live music and an excuse to get dressed up was in order. It's fair to say this area has got a lot of talent that really doesn't get the exposure it deserves and a lot of the artists playing were playing originals that I would without hesitation pay for on iTunes. We were home by 9:30 clutching a Subway for myself and boyfriend but for those few hours it was thoroughly enjoyable despite being full up with a head cold and without paracetamol may well have died on the hardwood floors.

What's even better is that I'm going out again next weekend for my best friend's 28th birthday celebrations and I may even wear the same outfit because I love it so much. The shirt is from Lovedrobe and the necklace is the beautiful massive one I picked up in the New Look sale on it's debut. I paired them with black skinny jeans and heeled ankle boots with my Zara City bag and a black trilby and I felt suitably dressed down, comfortable and stylish. Perfect night out attire? Maybe!
