Happy weekend! For lots of us it means a few days of no work, relaxing, having a few drinks but that's not why I'm excited. I'm excited because after what feels like forever I am finally starting to feel better after a really terrible flare up with pain and not sleeping well for over a week. I've spent a lot of time being not very productive this week either in bed surrounded by books, notebooks and my laptop or on the sofa trying to spend time with my family while my eyes roll back because I am that exhausted. I've tried to make the most of the late nights and I've managed to start a new project, complete a few and redesign the blog a little which I think turned out rather well. What do you think?.
Thursday night everyone went a little crazy because it was reported that the northern lights would be able to be seen from a lot of the UK. Here in South Wales I only managed a little tinge of green in the sky from my light polluted back garden that doesn't have a great north facing view but some beautiful lady on Facebook took this gorgeous photo from the bridge and you can see just a hint of the lights in the rain soaked night sky. It makes me want to book a flight (and order a passport) to head to Sweden or Norway and attempt to see them the way the photographs depict them.
To cheer myself up I've been painting my nails, experimenting with make up and taking lots of photographs for future projects. I've fallen in love with this Laura Mercier primer that manages to make my skin glow even through a heavy coverage foundation like Estee Lauder Double Wear which is my ultimate A/W base of choice. Boyfriend took this photo of me with my face scrunched up in excitement before Sherlock last Sunday and I shy away from posting photos of my face here but this one seems my natural state lately so it's only fair I put it up here.
I managed a coffee and some sale shopping with my best friend on Thursday too so I may post a little haul featuring some of the little bits I bought but the main deal of the day was a giant 1 litre gingerbread syrup bottle from Starbucks for £9.99. Gingerbread lattes all through the Spring? I think so! Christina kindly bought it for me as a get well present and I'm all over that now my sleep is relatively back on track and I'm drinking coffee daily again. So many little things have made me happy this week and I often feel it's those tiny things that make me the happiest - although I can't wait to get back to our daily morning dog walks.
that first picture looks so cute! i've also been testing out laura mercier's primer after getting it as a gift with purchase recently. so far so good :) have a nice weekend!

ReplyDeleteMy week hasn't been exciting in the slightest unfortunately, a return to uni and a return to working my butt off! I have not missed it. Ha.

A return to uni must mean structure and getting to enjoy time off more though so there are upsides even though it's hard work :)
