Today I want to introduce you to my favourite small business and independent retailer, Geisha Wigs which is run by the amazing Maria from her home in Cardiff. As most of you may know I am an avid wig wearer and I'm forever changing my hair in style, length and colour with the flip of a wig cap and I have to thank Geisha Wigs for all of my 'unnatural coloured' wigs. Geisha Wigs specialise in alternative wigs so inside the treasure trove of the store you'll find exceptionally long wigs, bright wigs, dark wigs, crimped, curly, with ponytails, without, straight all in an array of beautiful tones from the brightest of blues to the most pastel of pinks and lilacs.
First of all, the customer service is impeccable. Maria runs this from home packaging all orders with that little something extra and any enquiries are dealt with promptly with the utmost of professionalism while still remaining polite and chatty which is what I really, really love about this company. Everything seems personal even if three other wigs exactly the same are being sent out that day. Another thing is that the models who are modelling the wigs are all independent models shot by independent photographers. The models love the wigs, the make up artists love styling around them and the photographers love shooting them which is a bonus for everyone as everyone has beautiful work to display.
While pastel hair is still in fashion there's a whole host of more natural colours to try if you're a blonde and fancy trying brunette or vice versa going into the reds and really dusky purples that almost look brown in the right light. If you're uneasy about the length you can cut them, a lot of them can be heat styled to a certain degree with tools and if you're a little anxious about the hairline a hat (especially in this weather) will sort it easily and help to disguise anything unnatural except the colour. I own twenty six wigs now and four of them are from Geisha Wigs, my ultimate favourite being Snowslide which is super long and is such a beautiful grey white colour that makes me feel like an ice princess with light lips and lots of lashes.
Most of these wigs range in price from £19-25 which is less than what you'd pay for a decent hair cut let alone bleach, dye, extensions etc and they can be easily worn, taken off, stored and washed in lukewarm water with a little fabric conditioner to keep them soft and tangle free. I'm a complete advocate of wigs as you all know but this business is what I'm truly proud of as I've watched it grow, gain more and more stock, more and more custom and it couldn't happen to someone more hardworking or deserving than Maria who's awake at all hours on her business social media accounts making it happen.
Geisha Wigs have a new Amazon store here if that's your preferred shopping outlet or you can buy from the shop here. They are also on Facebook here and Twitter as @geishawigs. You can get 10% off your first order with the code ELLAGEISHAonly on the website right now and which isn't redeemable against sale stock.
