Sleek I Divine Vintage Romance Palette

Sleek I-Divine Vintage Romance palette - £7.99 from Superdrug

This palette was a Christmas gift from my best friend and isn't it gorgeous? As soon as I unwrapped it I recognised the box and I was thoroughly excited because I think Sleek are the best drug store eyeshadow brand without a doubt due to their shades, pigmentation and price. £7.99 for a palette like this is phenomenal and while they may not quite be on par with Urban Decay or Too Faced I feel like every palette is something special. This? This is no different.

First of all, I must say that I am a neutrals girl. I own too many neutral eyeshadows in palettes and in singles. I'm a fan of a shimmery champagne teamed with a matte chocolate brown or plum in the crease, a flick of jet black liquid eyeliner along the top lash line and lots of lashes. I rarely go for big bold eyes and when I do the main colour is black so when I opened this and saw the array of plums I knew what I could do with them to use them to their full advantage without straying from my own preference. The top shades, Lost In L.A in particular has an olive tone to it which is perfect as a light base with A Vow In Venice. All of the shades go so well with taupes, champagnes, camels and chocolates that it's the perfect little addition to my collection for something a little more.

In terms of pigmentation I am in love. The first shade, a beautiful silver is so pigmented that I needed a lot less than what was on my brush for the inner corners of my eyes and brow bone. It's a little out there for a highlight colour but works solidly if you want a little more pop. I don't have to swirl my brush as just a pat is necessary and it means I'll use a lot less product in the long run. While all of the shades have some sheen there are a few with larger glitter particles which I won't get so much wear from but I know they're all completely workable with the right finishes and textures to compliment so it's not all glitter ball eyes.

What do you think of this Sleek palette?

  3. Lovely colours! I really want to try Sleek products, especially their blush sets, it's just awkward because there's no Sleek section in boots or superdrug where I live! I'll have to order online. Lovely post! xx
