When my best friend asked what I'd like as a luxury make up gift in my Christmas hamper I didn't even hesitate in saying this. NARS is one of my beloved brands coming up trumps with everything from foundation to lipstick and when I caught a glimpse of this and swatched it at the John Lewis Christmas press event this year, it was love. Yes, it's quite an impractical colour but it's so, so beautiful I couldn't not have it. After all, it was a luxury gift.

The colour itself is not well portrayed in the photos above. It's a very dark green black colour but in the light it comes to life with rich emerald green shimmer throughout that's truly stunning. It needs layering to really get the full impact of the colour but the pigmentation is astounding and the longevity runs on my dry eyelids with a primer at around 8 hours before there are true signs of wear. I've created a full black and green eye from this which would be amazing with big full lashes for a party look but in the spirit of finding ways to get my wear from this in the day time I find it works best as a gel eyeliner paired with an olive toned gold eyeshadow and a little forest green or cranberry through the crease. When it catches the light it just brings a whole new dimension to the look and I can't help but stare.
