1. I am not as ashamed as you'd want me to be.
2. I have still found love in many of it's forms both through platonic and romantic relationships.
3. I still have sex. Great sex, in fact.
4. I am worthy of both of the above things despite people who tell me I'm not.
5. I am a size 16, a size 18, a size 20, a size 22 and a size 24 depending on the store, the fabric, the cut and the design.
6. I am not healthy but I am more healthy than a friend of mine who counts 800 firm calories a day and doesn't have the energy to run now.
7. Being fat hasn't stopped people telling me that they envy my legs, my boobs, my bum, my lips or my relationship.
8. Being fat hasn't absolved my love for fashion as I can shop on the high street without too much fear nowadays.
9. Being fat has taught me to sew so I can take in and let out those last sizes that are just a bit out one way or the other on the rail.
10. I am worth no less or no more because of the curve of my bust or my hips.
11. If I go online I can find that Lipsy dress in a size 20 and in a better cut for half the price.
12. I don't sit around gorging on food.
13. The fake tan doesn't make all the stretch marks go away and I'm okay with that.
14. Above the fat is excess skin that I'm probably not going to make magically disappear with a healthy diet and the gym. I'm learning to be okay with that.
15. My thighs touch and I have to manoeuvre to shave differently. That's so okay it's not even a point.
16. Sitting on swings can be uncomfortable for long periods of time but I give my kids a hell of a ride on the see-saw.
17. Sometimes, just sometimes I can pretend to be pregnant on the bus by just putting my hand on my stomach. I get to sit down.
18. Tights cure a multitude of aesthetic 'sins' in mini skirts.
19. My arse has never looked better than in Asda's £18 miracle jeans.
20. Spanx keeps me warm under flimsy non-forgiving dresses.
21. You can be confident in yourself while still wanting to improve.
22. You can be insecure at times but still go out looking like the beautiful, sassy thing you are.
23. You can order a large McDonalds meal and a diet coke if you want to.
24. Ever in need of a pick me up? There are plus sized blogs showcasing beautiful women with beautiful bodies without the tagline of 'curves make a real woman'.
25. You can love, be loved and expect love whatever your size.

Truly inspiring post and a great reminder that media sucks because they try to teach us there's a perfect size and we should try to do everything to get there.

ReplyDeleteAlso, I only just found your blog, but will definitely be coming back :)

ReplyDeleteIt pisses me off that we live in a world where you have to tell us that you're ok with being fat. Whose fucking business is it what weight you are? It's affecting no one but you, if it's their problem then it's them that need to find a solution, not you who needs to feel bad for being fat. Fuck them. You're beautiful!x
