So November may be a little early for some of you to start putting up your festive decorations but not for me. Usually I wait until December 1st but this year I was feeling low, I had bought a few new Christmas decorations and I realised I'm an adult. I make the rules and so an hour later our tree complete with a few baubles and unfortunately broken lights was erected and placed in the corner waiting to be adorned with more sparkle.
I've seen the Coca Cola, M&S and John Lewis Christmas adverts on TV, I've heard The Pogues feat Kirsty MacColl on the radio and now it's firmly rooted in my mind that although these things seem to appear earlier and earlier each year, once I have discovered all of these things it's then Christmas. Like somehow Christmas is allowed to begin in my mind and I'm not just getting some early organisational shopping in but I'm actually right in the midst. Yes, it's November and I probably should calm down as I haven't had my birthday yet or celebrated my youngest daughter turning three on the 28th but if this eccentricity is what it takes for a flawless Christmas, this is just about the amount of crazy I'm willing to bring to the table.
I love you for this!

I'm gonna put up some decorations this month, but the tree it's always put up on Christmas Eve. I just feel that magic then. I'm seriously hoping your blog post is a christmas one when I see it's a new one!!
ReplyDeleteIt's far, FAR too early for me to think about this yet but you do whatever makes you happy. I love that you've gone for it! :D
