With my birthday a few weeks away (November 23rd) I thought a birthday wishlist was in order. I don't ever really celebrate my birthday with more than a few cocktails with close friends in the evening and now I'm older, firmly moved out (over six years ago now) and have my own children presents are usually money, small or non-existent and it truly doesn't bother me as I really do have everything I need. Everything I want? A whole other story!
This is my dream gift guide and I know I'll never get everything on this list in one go and especially not from other people so please don't think I'm asking for these things or being grabby because really, it's not like that at all.
So first off I'd love a 50mm f4 lens for my Canon so I can take the shots I so eagerly want to and as I'm learning and growing with photography I find the kit lens to not be to the standard I'd like. Lenses are generally very expensive so this is one for the saving list as well as this MacBook Pro. At £999 for the least spec of the collection it is hardcore expensive but I've owned my old white MacBook since 2007 and while it still works it's very battered, bruised and slow so - one day. The Emma Hardie muslin cloths and cleansing balm are a little more realistic and I'll undoubtedly treat myself to this in the next month or two as my skin is looking rather awful lately and nothing seems to be working anymore but I've heard such fantastic things about this balm that it may be worth its price tag. The NARS duo and paint pot are just phenomenal, aren't they? At £25 for the duo and £18.50 for the paint pot they'll definitely be ending up in my grasp before 2014.
Now, an iPad? It's a sore subject. I owned one and I loved it until I hit a brick wall with my finances and ended up having to sell it to meet rent. Ever since I've been pining for a new one and they're still so expensive even second hand that it's not something I'm seriously considering just yet. However if anyone wants to buy me one, I'm game. Heeled Chelsea boots are my baby and I usually can't find them in a wide fit or a size 9 until New Look answered my footwear prayers as they usually do with these. Early birthday present from me to me? Like I don't own enough heeled ankle boots. I'm not a huge fan of Alexa Chung but I find myself drawn to this drivel and feel the need to read it for myself so that's on here taking up valuable monetary space and for more reading I'd love a subscription to ELLE or Company since the only subscription I have at the moment is to Vogue. While magazines are non-essentials I pick them up every month so a subscription would be cheaper and a lot more handy. The MAC eyeshadow is a representation of both Cranberry and Sketch which I need and I still haven't picked up the Lady Gaga perfume despite being a huge fan of it's scent since I had the joy of a spritz when it was first released.
Of course if anyone wants to stump up my rent for the year or buy me a house those would be adored gifts but really, it's all in the little material things when you have everything else you need in life. I truly can't wait to celebrate with a lot of gin in front of Doctor Who and hopefully not pull myself an injury in the heels I plan on wearing out in the evening.
You should try seeing if you can pick up a used ipad 2 cheaply now that the air is out! My bf has the ipad 2 and I use his as much as I use my ipad mini! It's a great model, I don't feel limited or behind the times when I use it. Your wishlist is so fab, I want a MacBook Pro sooooo bad! xx
