What I'm Wearing: London Retro Glasses

This week I received a beautiful pair of glasses courtesy of London Retro at My Optique. These are the Piccadilly frames which include scratch resistant and anti reflective lenses and come in a beautiful deep brown leather case which is perfect for popping into my bag if I'm wearing contact lenses.

I wear glasses because I'm blind. I'm short sighted, everything is extremely fuzzy more than a hands distance from my face and so I'm quite picky with my frames. I like them to be something I can wear every day with every outfit as it's very rare that I buy contact lenses. It's not that I don't like the way I look without glasses but I never feel fully 'me' without a pair on the bridge of my nose and I actually think I look better with them. Picking the glasses I'll be wearing is difficult too and even more so with online shopping as you're never quite sure how big they'll be, what the true colour is or how they'll suit. I've had small rectangular lenses in the past but now I'm moving on to bigger and better things - usually from the men's or unisex range as I have a big face and they balance out the proportions much better. I was so torn with a few glasses from the London Retro range but I ended up with these.

So these are the them and please excuse the bad Instagram photos but it was the only way I could really show them on my face without looking thoroughly revolting. I have glasses from Specsavers that are very similar but much more rectangular so with the rounded bottoms on these it's a great way to change the look without going too far from my comfort zone for every day wear and in short, while I was a little unsure they are growing on me in a big way. I'm leaning more toward putting these on as my regular glasses and using the others just as the mood takes me which I didn't think was going to happen and they fit so well and don't hurt in the slightest. Definitely a company I'd recommend because really, who doesn't need new facial wear every now and again?
