I have been likened to Lorelai Gilmore a fair few times - sometimes because I talk rather quickly and also because I have an addiction and pure obsession with coffee. I can't start the day without coffee, I think about coffee a lot more than is healthy and it's death before decaff in this house (the children are exempt from this rule). I love the deep aroma, the taste, the effects and the fact that pretty much everything in life is made better with one of two things - wine or coffee.
A few weeks ago I had an email pop into my inbox from a company called Chez Toi who I never knew existed. They specialise in coffee and when they asked if I'd like to try a selection of theirs I jumped at the chance because really, who doesn't need more coffee? When it arrived in its sleek red box I couldn't wait to indulge and yet I was surprised moreso when I opened the box. There, layed rather elegantly inside black and green sachets were 48 gourmet coffee samples in their eight strong range and a cafetiere mug so you can make proper coffee on the go. I'm guilty of loving to use my cafetiere at home but it just isn't practical at work or on the go. With one built into a mug? Well, I was in my element.
The eight flavours sent were Brazilian Monte Cristo Rainforest Alliance, Colombian Excelso, Decaf Coffee, El Salvador Monte Sion Rainforest Alliance, Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kenyan AA Grade and Sumatra Fairtrade Certified and Organic all of which have different depths and tastes but all of which I take with two sugars and a splash of milk. I'm a huge fan of the Colombian and Brazilian and like the others so much that my regular coffee has taken a back seat.
I was sent the gift pack which comes in at a mere £29.99 which I feel is such a great deal for all that you get and would be perfect for a gift for any coffee lover trying to branch out from instant or store bought grounds. So here's how to use them:
Since each sachet is specifically measured for this mug, just go ahead and pour your chosen coffee in with the filter out.
Add in hot (not boiling) water, milk and sugar before stirring and replacing the filter that clips on the handle.
Wait for three minutes before slowly pushing down on the filter handle to push down the ground coffee. Since the filter is so fine you can rest assured that none will escape leaving you with a really smooth cup of coffee which I love and then sit back, get cosy and enjoy. Coffee coffee coffee.
MMM, I love me some coffee! These pictures look amazing! This was awesome :)
