I feel as if I've been pretty absent for the past week or so and now I'm just emerging the other end of the black hole back into the bright world of online possibility. I've been picking up my camera again, writing more, getting organised, planning projects to expand this blog just a little more and getting back on orders for blog designs. On Tuesday Layla fell ill and came out in a head to toe bright red rash. After a trip to the GP we were heading straight for the hospital when our taxi crashed into the back of another car sending us all surging forwards even with seat belts but as there was minimal damage we headed back off a few minutes later. We were told we'd need to be admitted and for the next three days we were in isolation in a ward with nothing but a TV and VHS player for company while Layla battled Scarlet Fever with an IV of antibiotics. Thankfully she came home Friday evening and she's back to her bright usual self so we may just be able to enjoy the last week of half term, yet.
Easter Sunday was a lovely lazy day. My best friend brought round eggs for the girls and a colour your own bunting project that we're planning to hang proudly in their bedroom. We ate chocolate for breakfast, watched Hop with James Franco and cuddled on the sofa with the heating off and duvet downstairs. We played with bunny finger puppets and fluffy bunnies that had lost the stickiness they once had on their bottoms before popping them in to our pockets and heading to Wetherspoons for dinner. I couldn't be bothered to cook and we had nothing for a sunday roast that I really fancied so a spot of cheap pub grub was just what we needed (plus, you can't go wrong when children eat free, right?)
In other news I spent a few hours yesterday deleting all of my Pinterest boards and starting fresh. I don't know why but technical organisation is so refreshing and calming for me. All of my phone apps need to be in labelled folders as do my laptop files and now Pinterest is all organised. You can find me here if you want to follow my boards as they build up again. I'm a little bit of a Pinterest addict so I wouldn't imagine it will take long for everything to look a little more healthy there again.
I've been working on some make up posts too but gosh, it's really difficult to photograph make up. How do you do it? I have natural lighting, a decent lens and yet still it's like a battle between me and manual settings to get the colours to show up as they do on my skin. This right here is why I'm a lifestyle blogger who likes make up and not a beauty blogger. Kudos, beauty bloggers. Kudos.
I'm so glad that Layla has made a full recovery. Poor pickle. I've had a recent Pinterest revival, I drop it and pick it up again all of the time.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Layla's feeling better ... car crashes are bad at anytime but when you're en route to the hospital, even more so - I'm so glad you're all ok :)
ReplyDeleteP.S Your dog is gorgeous! So photogenic! x
So glad that Layla is okay! Hopefully you can all enjoy the rest of half term.

It's good you had a lovely easter ^-^ the bunny in the denim pocket has given me a DIY idea to stitch a white bunny like that permanently inside my denim jacket pocket (I really really love bunnies).
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Layla is better now.
ReplyDeleteYou can tell that I work in a Solicitors but it is worth mentioning, I hope you're looking into a claim for the crash? x
