Spring Home Scents

I'm a huge fan of scenting each room of my home but while candles are my favourites it's a little impractical and vastly dangerous to have a candle burning unattended in each room so the scent lingers. Whenever I buy air freshener I tend to go towards Airwick in the aisles because I know they are a widely known well trusted brand but I've never tried their plug in scents so when this little box ended up in my hands I knew they'd be perfect for those other less-well loved rooms.

The range is inspired by the scents of famous National Parks from the Brecon Beacons to the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District all with their own delicate yet distinctive scents. The Brecon Beacons air freshener currently resides in my bathroom and it smells amazing when the bathroom has been cleaned with a citrus bleach. Somehow the scents really work together to create fresh and clean to the point where I don't even want to take a scented candle up with me to the bath now and just use tea lights. It's not an overpowering scent when you walk in but you can smell it long after you first catch a sniff which to me is a sign of quality.

The Peak District offering of Spring Breeze & Golden Lily is in my kitchen and while I wasn't convinced by the plug in in the beginning it really does make a difference. I hate the smell of kitchens a few hours after cooking when the smells have just combined to create a really unappealing aroma so with the back door open in the nicer weather plus this scent everything smells much lovelier. I've had compliments on the scent too and two friends have already gone to pick up one of their own so this scent is definitely really popular.

As for White Roses & Pink Sweet Pea from the Yorkshire Dales? That's in my bedroom. We have damp in there and so it usually smells a bit musty even after it's been cleaned so this was the one that would need to impress more than my scented candles. Did it live up to them? Well, not really. It's a pleasant smell but whereas with a scented candle I can't smell anything but I can still get a few notes of must under the scent of this but I think it would be perfect for someone without this problem as the scent is gorgeous. I've chosen to keep one in there for now and see if it helps as we go along but the other has been moved in to the hall where it's much more effective.

Boyfriend is a great judge on these things as anything too sweet or overpowering gives him a headache but he can stand these which in regular talk translates to he quite likes them. They're inoffensive and serve their purpose with scents that make the home feel both cosy and fresh so are perfect for bringing the outdoors in for Spring. If you like innovative or deeper scents these aren't for you but for a pick me up in a room they're definitely worth adding in. You can find out more here.

  1. These sound lovely! I feel like I should buy the Brecon Beacons just because it is local but I actually really love the sound of the Yorkshire Dales fragrance! x
