What We Did - Tuesday

Today has been such a happy day. I woke up this morning to a bright, crisp morning (late, as usual) and after rushing around sorting out bills, the bank and some housework we headed into town for a cheap breakfast, a little retail therapy and a coffee or three with my sister. There's always one week out of the month where I feel ridiculously rich and don't mind spending slightly frivolously and that week happens to be this week. While I didn't buy much for myself apart from a pair of staple Primark tights and this lovely silver necklace that was down to just £1 in the sale but I did buy quite a bit.

First off, I picked up these lovely quilted and studded little purses from Primark for the girls to keep their pocket money in and finished off the Primark trip with a new jacket, long sleeved t-shirt and jeans for boyfriend but the big purchase came on a little venture to a charity shop with my sister. Right near the door there stood a huge square coffee table with its distressed solid pine and thick glass top. It had a sticker on for just £30 but I put it out of my mind while I bought a dress until I couldn't any longer. After all it's huge. After consulting boyfriend we figured we could rearrange the living room a little and make the room because it's honestly something I've never seen before and a really special piece. Four notes and a hefty delivery fee later it's being delivered tomorrow and we're working on the living room furniture tonight. Hopefully I'll have photographs up tomorrow of the finished look which I'm very excited about as I love change in the home.

Once we were home and out of the biting chill boyfriend popped out and came home with a few presents - a bouquet of fresh flowers that were chosen and arranged by Layla who chose and wrote the card despite the fact I'm not unwell and my bath time reading favourites before Company pops on the shelves tomorrow. I only ever seem to read magazines in a warm bubble bath but I love that as it gives me valuable time to laze around which is very much appreciated. I've recently really been getting in to Grazia magazine. I'm not one for celebrity gossip but I find the balance of gossip, interesting articles, interviews, fashion and beauty to be just right for a weekly magazine and I can't help scouting it out in my local newsagents.

Lastly, my outfit. I want to photograph this outfit properly on as part of a Fat Girls Can't...Wear Stripes feature because it's one of my new favourites. It's a sheer dip hem monochrome multi-stripe (mouthful) shirt from Lovedrobe and I wore it with black skinny jeans, my comfiest black flat boots, a grey knobbly knitted open cardigan, a black knitted bobble hat and lots of chunky costume jewellery. I felt done but casual which is rare in most of my outfits as they usually sway one way or the other so this may be my new favourite day to day attire.

How was your Tuesday?
