The Life Of A Snacker

For someone so fat I sure do love healthy food. I don't eat a lot in one go and instead I like to graze throughout the day and have one main meal usually at dinner. I'm a big fan of salted popcorn, nuts, seeds, wasabi peas, salads, cheese or pate on crackers etc so when Metcalfe's Skinny contacted me asking if I'd like to try one of their boxes, I snapped up the opportunity. I've seen their popcorn in supermarkets and even in stores such as Primark but I'm not very adventurous and usually pop my own popcorn with some salt or butter but the flavours on their website intrigued me. Wasabi Glaze? Um, yes please.

I was lucky enough to get two bags of Wasabi Glaze in my box along with two bags each of Chocolate Crackle, Heat & Sweet, Sweet & Salt, Cinnamon Spice and Sea Salt. I can't speak for Heat & Sweet or Cinnamon Spice yet as I haven't tried them but between boyfriend, the two girls and I we've tried all of the others. The girls were enamoured with Chocolate Crackle so much so that when the two bags were finished they went rooting for another and ended up trying the Wasabi Glaze. Well, as you can imagine that didn't go down too well and I only wish I was quick enough with my camera to take photos of their faces.

The best part is that they have so little calories. Ranging from 108-230 per sharing bag it's a guilt free way to snack, especially on the go. Half the time if I'm out and have nothing on me I'll end up picking up a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps instead of going out of my way to choose a healthier choice because I really like chocolate but at home I'm a little more sensible as we rarely buy junk food to keep in the house. I think it's the freedom of so much choice that makes me gravitate to something sweet and calorific but now these are popping up in more and more stores it's definitely to my advantage because I could choose an entire bag of Chocolate Crackle popcorn for 230 calories. I find it actually keeps me quite full and fulfilled too when after an entire 600 calorie Greggs sandwich I feel like I need something extra so it's definitely helping my waist line!
