Thigh high socks are often depicted on slim legged women looking fabulous and cosy all at the same time but for the longest time I thought I couldn't wear them. Not just because my legs were about three times the size of theirs but also because God, they are hard to hunt down. The pairs they sell in the regular range barely get to my knees and since I'm 5ft10in as well as a larger size I almost gave up hope.
Instead of giving up, I gave in. I took a pair of scissors to a pair of Primark's cosy tights that I bought accidentally a size too small and cut it at the crotch to give me two legs. From there I popped them on and folded the messy edges down to my desired length which for me is about an two inches above the knee. They stay up on me like this but you could always sew them down or sew a length of elastic in before closing the stitch for extra security. Not only are they warm but they go with short skirts and dresses too in a plain black without being ribbed.
So if you're on the hunt for a pair, try this trick. It took me less than 10 minutes and you definitely can wear them!
There is another girl who I follow who wears these all the time. She always talks about how she is not skinny. I think they can look good on anyone. Its just how you wear them. If you wear them sloppy they look sloppy. Love your tattoo. Do you have any posts about it? I love hearing about others tattoos.

ReplyDeleteThose look really cool! I feel like they should make things like this in bigger sizes, businesses are only causing themselves detriment by not catering to bigger women.
