When Glitzy Secrets sent me this bracelet just before Christmas I was a little overwhelmed by its beauty. It really does look like a vintage piece of jewellery and the different dimensions and colour that comes through in the stones (sometimes looking clear, sometimes with a slight grey tinge) makes it sparkle like no other costume jewellery I've ever owned. In the month or so I've been wearing it often it hasn't tarnished either which is pretty fantastic, it's sturdy and easy to clasp on and off without feeling fragile but I had one reservation - where the hell was I going to wear this? I'm all for big earrings and big necklaces with jewellery but I rarely decorate my wrists with more than a watch. In my family bracelets were expensive, luxurious and for special occasions only such as big anniversaries and not for much else and I guess that's what I've grown up to know. "Costume jewellery from the top of the head to the neck only" my nanna would say.

Hooooowever, nanna wasn't an eternal loser of things that matter. I can't express to you how easily I lose or break things with my scatter brain and big ogre hands and this is why I choose to wear costume jewellery only and nothing that's big or expensive - even my engagement ring doesn't have a real diamond. I just can't.

So I ummed and ahhed. I tried to wear this with jeans and heels, a semi-formal dress, with a pretty outfit and with a grunged up outfit and nothing really stuck. It looked gorgeous at all times, added that something extra and sparkled in the sunshine but nothing felt special enough. That is until I tried on my wedding dress with it and wow. My dress has quite an old-time vintage feel to it and it just compliments it so well as the dress itself is rather plain. It's perfect. So, so perfect. I am so excited to have this along with earrings in a similar style to walk down the aisle to this year at some point. I will wear it in other outfits, no doubt but it just feels so special when I put it on that I think it's real debut should be shining against ivory lace and bouncing the light from boyfriend's cufflinks.
