Sundays At Home

So it's Sunday and boy, I'm glad of it. I've been feeling rough all week while sorting out finances, sorting the Christmas shopping, wrapping a few gifts, cleaning and decorating on top of work and general mum duties. To combat the general feeling of wanting to moan at everyone who says 'Hello' I decided to decorate the house a little more than the Christmas tree which I don't usually do. I made paper chains, glittered some glass candle holders, dug out the box of Christmas treasures that I took from my parents and grandparents when I moved out and I made the lounge a little more festive. Boyfriend is a real Scrooge so I only really ever get to decorate the living room and banisters of the stairs before he starts yelling at me to stop crafting so I'm really making the most of it this year.

After a little incident where Amelia ate all of the chocolates in her and her sisters advent calendars we made an emergency dash to Morrisons and surprisingly they didn't gravitate towards Disney Princesses or Hello Kitty (I did). They ended up picking a very religious inspired one and a Skylanders one because, and I quote "Dragons and Jesus. Jesus would like dragons". I think he would too, kid.

For today I've been snuggled up in a fair isle print fleece blanket with the windows open to air out the house and a Yankee black cherry candle burning on the table with a gingerbread latte and John Green's The Fault In Our Stars. I've read this book four times now and each time I discover something new - a new favourite line or something described about the way a character says something that changes everything for me. I've wrapped one up for my best friend this Christmas so she can experience it too before the film is released in 2014.

Speaking of 2014, it's about time to jot down a list of goals for my 25th year and maybe even a 25 to 30 list to work my way through. No doubt I'll share both lists in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled. Do you have any lists of the sort? I'd love some inspiration.

  1. Merry Christmas, Best Friend. Here's a book that will RIP OUT YOUR HEART AND DESTROY YOUR FAITH IN THE WORLD!

Needless to say, that book destroyed me!

  2. Love this post Ella :) I'm still giggling at the girls reasoning behind the two mis-matched advent calendars! xx
