Festive Fingertips - A/W Nail Varnishes

I am never without nail varnish. Yes, it may be chipped and not looked after as well as it should be but I always wear it. My natural nails are stained and I feel truly naked without it so all winter I paint my toenails and fingernails in a spectrum of colours to suit my mood and one of my favourite pick me ups has to be a pot of nail varnish from good old Barry M or Essie. Most of my nail colours are from the high street with Essie, Barry M and Models Own and Topshop being up there in my top 4 favourite brands but occasionally I do venture out into higher end and they disappoint me (I'm looking at you, Chanel).

These are my favourite Autumn and Winter picks from the high street - Barry M and Asda to be specific. I just had too many polishes to share so I thought I'd group them and write a few posts in the coming weeks covering my most favourites from my almost 150 strong collection (that seriously needs cleaning out).

The wonderful deep forest green looks amazing against burgundies, wines and reds in clothing while the nude makes me feel like a snow bunny as I find the shade doesn't quite suit my skin tone in the summer. I'm a huge fan of deep berries on lips and nails so these two popped up with the Barry M offering being matte and thoroughly amazing. The pink mixed glitter top coat looks phenomenal with the deep berry colours either as tips or on one nail and is subtle enough to get away with in day time without looking like a disco ball. The red is the least favourite of them all for me but is such a classic colour and so festive that I had to include it, if not only because it matches my Christmas Day dress perfectly with black half moons and studs.

I'm a little addicted, even if I still can't get application down to perfection yet but practice makes perfect, right? That's my excuse for buying so many new shades.

  1. Yay for glitter :) I like to use it as a great way of hiding chipped nails

    1. I do that too. A few layers and it's back to being perfect!
