Christmas Eve

So today has been quite wild. From waking up at the crack of dawn to two excited little ones, pre-cooking and preparing some of the Christmas food, getting all the gifts organised and the house cleaned plus watching three Christmas films in the background and taking both the pug and the labrador on a walk together in Santa suits - well, it's been a journey. I'm glad to be here now at just past nine in the evening with a big glass of Baileys and the new mini episode of Sherlock on my phone because it means I can sit. Until tomorrow that is.

Today we made more mince pies and chocolate truffles rolled in coconut shavings, watched Elf, It's A Wonderful Life and Love, Actually together snuggled under blankets, exchanged gifts with my dad and his partner (I received a shiny new kitchen blender, food processor and mixer that I'll be making great use of tomorrow) and became a bit jolly. All of the presents are wrapped and ready for presentation, the food has either been prepared or pre-cooked and I'm feeling more and more festive every moment even though I know there'll be no presents under the tree for me this year from the family.

I'm excited to wake up and unwrap stocking presents on our bed before venturing downstairs to more. I'm excited about smelling everything cooking and seeing my sister and niece in the morning to exchange gifts. I'm thoroughly excited for my best friend Christina to spend the day with us for Christmas dinner and then there's Doctor Who - the fan girl moment a girl experiences at the Doctor Who Christmas special is usually a great one except this is bittersweet as it's the final bow for Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor and it makes way for Peter Capaldi as the next. I have full faith in him as I love him already but we shall see.

So I'm in my blogger-y 'Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal' jumper, leggings and boot slippers and I'm costing up with boyfriend, the dogs and the fire just waiting for bed time. I hope you all have a wonderfully merry whatever you celebrate and we'll meet up soon right here with photos from the day, food and possibly even a cheeky vlog.
