Yesterday my best friend Christina and I took a trip up to Birmingham to meet Ashleigh from 25to30.co.uk. We had planned to meet up with a few other blogger friends who sadly couldn't make it but we carried on and at 10am we were in the car promptly missing junctions in Bristol singing along to a mix of iPod tracks from the 70's through to the present.
Once we arrived we had to stop for a coffee so after locating the nearest Starbucks from members of staff at the Bullring who seemed a little confused themselves we sat smoking cigarettes and chatting until we had to leave for lunch. With three GPS apps up on our phones and a distinct lack of direction from the three of us we finally ended up at Lost & Found which was a recommendation from the lovely Elizabeth of Rosalilium, a beautifully decorated restaurant off Birmingham high street with an array of delicious sounding lunch options for a very reasonable price. I ended up with an iced tea cocktail and the pulled pork pitta with apple and onion marmalade, mayonnaise, chips and spicy coleslaw which was as delicious as it sounds for under fifteen pounds.
Once we had finished we ended up doing a little bit of damage in a few stores and while it was busy (so busy, I was thoroughly underprepared) I ended up buying everything I wanted bar a MAC eyeshadow as the make up artists in the Selfridges store were so horribly rude, a NARS eyeshadow duo as they were out of stock and a black bowler hat as I have a massive head and the ones I found just kind of...sat there. Not attractive. I did end up with some gems for a very reasonable price that I'll photograph and feature here tomorrow as a haul.
On the drive back as it was getting increasingly darker, Christina and I ended up grabbing a Costa and some McDonalds fries from the services and having philosophical discussions about the universe, the paranormal and essentially, the meaning of life which was equal parts fantastic fun and a little alarming. We popped to our local Tesco that Christina works at for a few bits and pieces and my heels hurt so bad that I bought a pair of slippers and wore them around the store. Classy? Not in the slightest but the best feeling as it was like walking on air at that point.
If this was too long and you didn't read it, the gist: I went to Birmingham to meet Ashleigh. I eat delicious food, she was amazing and I shopped too much.
I'm so jealous! Food looks yummy. One day... x

The Lobster & Me
The sriracha aioli that was drizzled over the chicken helped boost this dish, but not enough to really impress me. Taxi Birmingham to Heathrow Airport
