Zoe ginger layered wig - £24.99 c/o Wonderland Wigs
You all know how much I love wigs and you must also know my obsession with ginger wigs. There aren't many of them around that are good enough quality for every day wear so when Wonderland Wigs contacted me asking if I'd be interested in choosing a piece to review, I was thrilled to discover they had not one ginger wig but many all in different styles. After finding the straight and the curly were out of stock I settled on the layered slightly flicky style. I'm going to be honest - I was dubious. Above is the stock image of the wig and it looks plastic, shiny and like something you'd pick up in a joke shop so definitely not for every day wear but I was prepared to give it a chance and try to make it work.
As you can see it isn't shiny whatsoever. The stock image has very bad lighting but in real life it's this beautiful soft ginger copper colour, very natural looking and soft with a slight sheen that you can tone down with a tiny dab of baby powder. I didn't need to make this work at all as as soon as I put it on it was perfect. It's incredibly natural looking and the flicks don't bother me as they aren't Farrah Fawcett flicks, just natural bounce. It's my favourite ginger wig right now and I can't wait to pick up the straight and curly styles from their range as the colour is just absolutely perfect. Not too blonde, not too red - it's just stunning. In the photo it looks a little more blonde than it is and in reality it's more of a light copper.
The price is a little higher than if you were to buy on eBay etc but they're very very reasonable for high quality Kanekalon synthetic hair and I've even slept in this wig without it getting too tangled. With some wigs they get matted within two or three wears but this baby combs out like a dream and washes incredibly well.
If you're browsing the website (I have my eye on the pastel wigs and I can't wait until I can afford to pick one up) be aware that if the lighting is this bad on this one, I imagine the shine on the others is reflective of this. Give it a chance. Get it home, run your fingers through it and really look at it because I am pleasantly surprised that the photos do this wig no justice whatsoever. Expect to see this wig in a lot of outfit posts because it truly is a daily staple for wig-wear right now.
Wow looks gorgeous :) I can't believe it's the same wig as the stock pic. I'm a wig virgin... Maybe need to get that rectified!

ReplyDeleteThis looks great, I've been stalking Wonderland Wigs for a while, love their dark brown 40's style. You're right their stock photo has terrible lighting! Hugely off putting. I think they should switch for your photograph, it's a far better example, looks great!
