The Pinterest Diaries - Kitchens

Another round of The Pinterest Diaries and another round of home inspiration, this time in the kitchen. I love kitchens and truly believe they are the heart of any home. I use my kitchen for cooking, writing, reading, drinking coffee with friends, messy artwork - honestly, we spend a lot of time in there. I've been through many kitchens from the ones I grew up in which were quite small but full of mahogany and bare brick walls to a tiny narrow one with lino on the floor and cupboards that spontaneously unstuck from the wall with jars inside and now to a lovely white kitchen that's dark but rather spacious with steps leading down to it and cinnamon coloured stone tiles. My kitchen at home is taking shape but in my dream home? Well, as you can see above I have a thing for white.

My dream kitchen would have a half moon breakfast nook with floral upholstery, a kitchen island, white cabinets with rustic wood touches and pops of colour. Very classic and comfortable but also quite large so there's a lot of space to host people when they're over and it'd have a table in there for crafts and dinner parties. I'd have an exposed brick wall, a big oven and glass cabinets to store glassware. There'd be a cosy rug on the floor and pastel hints in the linen and - oh God, stop me.
