So a lot has happened in the last week and a half! My niece turned eighteen which is insane, I got a new job, I've spent some wonderful time with my girls and boyfriend plus extra special time with my favourite girlfriends and ended up with some gorgeous little things to jazz up the home. I'll start with the job, shall I?
Well as you probably remember a few months ago I got my dream job. For many reasons that dream job wasn't a dream and didn't work out but I'll tell you that I didn't give up. I dusted myself off, learned a lot and threw myself into applying for more jobs in the same field and do you know what? I got one. I'll be working as a digital marketer doing everything from SEO and PR to social media for businesses and I am over the moon. I don't start until September so the next few weeks I have almost no money coming in which is a huge struggle but with the help of some gift vouchers and kind friends I've managed to pick up a few little bits for myself and the home to make the transition from a little money to zilch a bit easier. I should have enough to pay the major bills such as gas, electric, water and food but I'll have pretty much 0 for big bills or anything nice which is a shame but it's all coming together! I am so excited about starting something new and from what I've seen and heard I feel I'll gel really well in this new position so please keep your fingers crossed for me!
Wednesday night my two best girl friends and I went to a lovely little restaurant in Caerleon, Newport for a meal. With an offer on for £14.50 for three courses we thought we'd take the plunge and honestly it was the finest cheap meal I've ever had and the first time I've ever left parts of a main and a dessert. I had a crab starter with salad and mayonnaise, chicken stuffed with pate wrapped in bacon with new potatoes, kale and red wine sauce as a main and a malted honeycomb cheesecake for dessert (with a side of a bottle of red wine) and OH MY. We will definitely be returning.
All in all I have had such a lovely week and while the money situation isn't the best I just know it's going to look up and everyone will be so much happier. School starts just as I return to work so it'll be a big change and a special time for us all (YEAR 1 FOR LAYLA - WHAT?!). I am truly positive for the rest of 2013 and I can't wait to see what Autumn brings.
well done on the job :) x

Congratulations on the new job!
ReplyDeleteI fricking love the Stuffed Dormouse, it is our regular haunt for meals. The prices are amazing and the food is always outstanding.
If you go again I recommend the belly pork. All of my friends also rave about the Oreo cheesecake, I like it but prefer other puddings I've had there.
xx
