Yes, ladies and the handful of gentlemen interested in my ramblings, I am a freak and do you know what? I'm proud of it because if my best friend has to be Paperchase then so damn well be it.
I love stationary shopping but I am picky. My paper has to be just so. I don't like the kind of paper where as you turn it over you can see the writing on the other side. Frankly, I don't write on the other side of pages if I don't have to as I don't like the indentations it makes on the 'right' side of the paper. The pens I use have to feel nice in my hand and write well with a thin nib and no ink as I smudge it and make a terrible mess. A thin nibbed biro works well and when I find one I love I keep it stashed away in a pretty secret spot in the house so nobody else can use it and I can always find it. I hate Tippex with a passion. If you dog ear a book I will look at you with disdain. I like my notebooks to be spiral bound so I can wrap the cover around the back to lean on and tear pages out with obvious ruining of the book
I love lists as you probably know so it should be no surprise to you that for the Wednesday Wishlist it's all about stationary. £20 for Sharpies? Oh but so worth it and so versatile. With September fast approaching and with no school for me to go to or go back to, I'm sat here figuring out ways to justify all of these gorgeous things. I do need to get more organised with freelance writing and blogging work. I do need more lists be they for Christmas, birthdays, important dates or just tasks that need to be done. So I will justify these with this. I shall buy it all and when I do I shall feel ever so proud.
I love september too and I feel the same way about stationery as you do! I also skip pages when writing if the paper is even a tiny bit transparent..
ReplyDeleteand that sharpie set is gorgeous! i write tons of stuff with sharpies and i could see these colours being used loads :)

I feel your pain. I'm exactly the same. I have about 5 empty note books and 3 sets of the same pens in case the children ruin one or I run out or loose another x
ReplyDeleteI suffer from the same addiction! I cannot visit anywhere without popping in the local Paperchase. I have a stack of notebooks/to do lists/diaries because I couldn't decide why to buy so bought them all. I do make a lot of notes though, so they do get used but I'm sure 1 or 2 would be sufficient as opposed to 7 or 8!
ReplyDeleteI try to avoid wet ink pens as I'm left handed and smudge the words as I write across the page but there are only certain pens I will use as others don't make my handwriting look as nice?!
And I once won a Sharpies hamper ... it was possibly the best day of my life! x
i do the same thing re: ripping pages out and starting again. i also practise handwriting before i start so i know what font i'll be using, so i don't get a cramped hand and have to start again (can't have diff fonts in body of text; must be heading/subheading/body with all diff fonts)..
ReplyDeletementalist.
yay stationery freaks unite! i love buying pens. i have two tins full of sharpies & am still very precious about them. i think i actually miss being at school/uni just because i love writing things down in nice new notebooks & folders. i remember in lectures i had to scribble down everything really quickly and then when i got home i wrote it all out again just so i could use my neat handwriting. btw i saw that 80s glam sharpies pack for just £10 in rymans. it took all of my self control not to buy them! xx
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, stationary, how I love it too! Paperchase is seventh heaven to me. I could spend HOURS!
