Spring Is Here

You're probably all completely sick of me banging on about Spring by now but this is part of the challenge so I'm hoping you'll let me off. Spring is fast becoming my favourite season, surpassing Autumn due to it's sunny disposition and promise of warmer weather to come. I live in Wales so it's very hit or miss if we even have seasons in the correct order but right now the skies are blue, there are puffy white clouds dotting the sky and the weather is mild enough for a cardigan so I am over the moon. I love the blossoms that scatter in the breeze, the longer evenings and the way that people seem instantly happier and friendlier when the sun is out. Spring reminds me of long days walking the dog around the perimeter of the park, through the woods and back out the other side with my iPod in my ears and not a care in the world. Granted, I was sixteen so didn't have much to care about but it will always be a happy period in my life and one I like to look back on when life gets overwhelming. Spring brings coral lips, pink blush and lighter fabrics - my favourites.

I think it was Gemma who came up with the blogger's picnic idea but I intend on getting as many of us in one place as possible to drink things we probably shouldn't be drinking in a park at lunch time. My garden is currently bare slate and dirt save for the lavender bush so I want to plant a few flowers to cheer it up a bit ready for barbecues and lazy days. I want to enjoy every moment of sunshine, even if it's just throwing the back door open on a mild day to let in some air. I really want to do a mother and daughter day with my eldest who'll be five this summer. Go for mini manicures, go dress shopping, go for lunch and drink baby virgin cocktails - she loves being spoilt like this and I love spoiling her on the rare occasions I can. The rest is self-explanatory except for date night. Boyfriend and I always have nights in and very rarely have nights out together so this Spring I'm organising a babysitter and we're going out just because we need it and I said so.

So Spring is looking truly promising right now and while I know there is no doubt rain to come and along with it hits to my mood, I am staying positive because if all this lusting over Spring has taught me anything it's that hope has a way of coming back around.
